Intern – Software Engineer – Full Stack

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka (Hybrid)

At Axon Systems Pvt Ltd, we are building HealthSync, Sri Lanka’s first patient-centric Personal Health Record (PHR) platform. Our mission is to empower individuals and families with secure, accessible, and easy-to-manage health records, anytime, anywhere.

As a growing startup, we are looking for passionate and driven Full Stack Software Engineer Interns who want to be part of this exciting journey. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with modern technologies, agile teams, and real-world challenges while contributing to a product that impacts lives.

What You’ll Do

As a Full Stack Intern, you will:

  • Contribute to building web and mobile applications across both frontend and backend.
  • Work with our core tech stack: React (TypeScript), Node.js/TypeScript, Java (Spring Boot), PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • Assist in documenting features, APIs, and workflows to support knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in debugging and bug fixing, learning how to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the team in an agile environment to design, develop, and ship features.
  • Explore opportunities to contribute at the infrastructure level, especially in Azure Cloud.
  • Continuously learn, adapt, and apply new technologies to deliver scalable solutions.
What We’re Looking For

We value potential, attitude, and willingness to learn over years of experience. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • A passion for software engineering and solving real-world problems.
  • Basic programming knowledge in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.
  • Interest in both frontend and backend development (web or mobile).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude, openness to feedback, and eagerness to grow.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, sharing and learning with others.
  • Curiosity about cloud technologies (Azure experience is a plus).
